Monday: Thought I'd run 5 miles today. My left calf is still pretty locked up. Lifted some weights and swam today. Did maybe 1000 meters swim today. Later today my left quad is knotted. I'll try to run tomorrow and see if I can work out these kinks!
Tuesday: Ran about 4 miles I think. Not particular about miles as much as time.
Wed: swam
Thursday: rest
Friday: run 5 miles
Saturday: bike ride 40 minutes

July 15 - 20
Monday: I'm in UT!!! I am for sure tired, need to make up sleep, but I got up to run. The air has been cool in the mornings, pleasant surprise. I'm tapering now, so today ran 5.05 miles. 38:07 (7:30). Sort of nice to just go off of memory from my routes last year. Looking more at time, then come home to map what I did. Hills!!!! Bam, right at the beginning of my run, to get out of this neighborhood! It's good for me! Glad that they haven't affected my time much. I would love to just run down hill for marathon prep, but what goes down, must have an up somewhere! It's nicer running in Lindon than WVC, more scenic!
Tuesday: 4.35 miles, 32:50 (7:32) Ran up a monster hill today! Wanted to come down for more miles. I don't know that I can prepare my legs for what is ahead! I'll just have to deal with being sore! I'm hoping to run down the canyon for 8 tomorrow, but we'll see if that is in the cards. Tapering... Sometimes I get anxious about not running 10 miles, but really it's nice, being on vacation and all!
Wedesday: 8.28 miles 59:23 (7.11) Scott took me up the canyon, was a great run.
Thursday: rest
Friday 4.30 miles 31:30 (7:20)
Saturday: 5.25 miles 38:30 (7:20)

July 8 - 13
Monday: 5 treadmill. M1 7.5, M2 8, M3 8 - 8/3, M4 8.3 - 8.5, M5 8.5 - 9 up to 10 at the end.
Tuesday: 8 with Natalie. (1:03) My time is off just a little, but we were about 8/mile. A little slower than I've been running, but I don't care, it was so good to run w/ her! My legs were sore after this run though... crazy! Had to potty break twice, also crazy. She told me about Imodium and I'm going to try that on my Saturday run.
Wednesday: rest/edit all day!
Thursday: Hill repeats 5 miles. Couldn't find my watch, but this is the day it doesn't matter! They hurt my legs more than I remember from last time. I'm never sore after, but my legs were burning this w/o.
Friday: Tired legs = bike ride, which still burned, just in different areas! Went 15 miles. Felt good to be on my bike, I'll miss it for the next 6 weeks. Wonder about coming back and going right into the Olympic tri... Feel I'll need to cycle in UT to be ready. I want to swim at least 1/wk too.
Saturday: 12 miles 1:30: 34 (7:32) This was a good run. I ate 1/2 bagel and 1/2 yogurt for bfast. I took Imodium to try... worked... didn't poop for the next two days! If that is what it takes to get me through a marathon w/o pooping I'll take it!!! I did take G-rade and some chews. May as well hydrate and fuel no matter the distance, so I can run my best. Felt a little tired first 4. Took me a minute to settle in. Felt very strong finishing. The last 4 felt good and easy. Ran first 4 in 30:25, next 4 in 29: 51, then last 4 in 30: 17. I think I'll try to watch my miles every 4 or 5 miles with the marathon, to make sure I'm on pace. Now I taper, marathon in less than two weeks!

July 1 - July 6
Monday: 5 tml workout with hills.
Tuesday: 8
Wednesday: cross train at home 40 minutes.
Thursday: 22 miles. Went 14 outside then finished 8 on the treadmill. I prepped well for this run. I ate a bigger lunch then ate a small dinner. I ran the whole time w/o stopping for a potty break. I left at 6. The humidity was tough. At the hill I had to stop for a second to catch my breath, tough. It started raining at mile 14 so I called M to come and get me. Not really to get out of the rain, I was drenched head to toe, but again, I'd run out of fluid, underestimating just how freaking bad the humidity was... it was like 90% humid! We got home and I went downstairs to finish. I could breath just fine and finished. I ran the 14 in 1: 50 ish (7:50) then ran the 8 in 1:04. I kept it at a 7.5 (8 pace). It feels good to have that done and under my belt prior to the marathon.
Friday: rest
Saturday: ran while up camping. did at least 4 then maybe a mile of sprints. I was more concerned about getting at least 40 minutes in.

June 24 - 29
I've got to say that I finally feel like I'm getting back to myself. I've still got some lb's to lose, but I'm on my way. It's frustrating feeling like I'm back to my regular running, but my body isn't back to it's weight. I'm getting there.
Monday: 5 outside. 37:16 (7:27)
Tuesday: bike w/ Molly, 15 miles
Wednesday: 6 outside 44:04 (7:20)
Thursday: rest
Friday: 6.63 48:10 (7:15) outside... it was so humid today! I was a sweaty mess, plus I left a little later in the morning. It is good training for me to run in the heat. It was hard, not gonna lie! I was hauling the first 4 miles... finished that at 28 min. which is right at the top of a 7/mi. I slowed down a bit, my legs were burning! I saw my neighbor just before mile 5 and stopped for a minute to talk to her. That was a good breather and I feel like I slowed down a bit after that. I feel all crazy out of whack, not knowing anymore what my comfort pace is! I thought I was going 7 miles, but that time was so fast I double checked my route... 6.6!
Saturday: 8 miles. 1:01 (7:38) My intention was to run 12 today. I just couldn't. I felt light headed, I tell you this humidity is killing me! I hadn't taken any fluid with me, usually I'm fine through 8 miles. I thought about going out to finish after I stopped at the house for a drink, but I want to run 22 on Wednesday or Thursday since we'll be camping over the weekend. It's just fine.

June 17 - 22
Monday: Pushed boys in stroller. Tough workout! Felt I'd be super slow. Kept my pace and finished the 5 miles at 38:06 (7:37). The stroller makes you stronger! Felt much better after I dropped O off! Was lighter! May try this again. Boys aren't so interested in riding anymore, but it's fun to take O to school in the stroller!
Tuesday: Up at 5:40 am, took off at 6 for 10 miles before the kids go to school. Cool this morning. I need to take my camera out with me, came up on 6 deer and scared them! Usually it's the other way around! Felt fatigue at the end. Didn't take any fluid or fuel w/ me. Did drink some chocolate milk before going. 1:16:43 (7:40)
Wednesday: rest
Thursday: 7 miles hills. Did hill repeats up Youngs. It was tough the last mile, but we got it done!
Friday: 4 tml. My legs were sore from hills and I wanted to conserve some strength for my long run.
Saturday: Wanted to actually go 22 miles. I want to train a full 3 hours before this marathon.
My prep the night before was good as far as timing. I ate around 5:30, before my shoot, and didn't eat after that. I only had a bowl of Ramen noodles... I was in such a hurry! I don't think it was enough of a carb load, but the timing was good for me. I didn't have to stop at all on my long run!
I got up at 5, ate oatmeal and had chocolate milk. I took a gu and gu chomps out with me. I don't think the chomps work as well for replenishing. I ate 2 at a time and had to refuel with them more often. I totally ran out of liquid at mile 14. It was a hot morning, which is good practice for UT. I just couldn't do it w/o more Gatorade. I only ran 18, and those last 2 miles were hard on me. I was parched!
My right foot is feeling funky too! My toes are bruised. So funny because last 20 miler was just fine. I had shin splints from my hill w/o so that carried over into my run. My shins have been a bit sore recovering.
I definitely think two weeks is optimal for jumping up in miles, but I'm at least building stores making my body do these long runs every other week. I hope to do the 22 week after next.
My overall time was like 2 hrs 40 min. My watch was off there at the end, I forgot to start it at a light. I kept a good pace until my hydration issue.
